Prayer of Inter-being
Inter-being
When I am cold, let me remember the parts of me which are always cold. The homeless ones whose shelter has no warmth.
Let hunger make me hunger for sustainance for all of me who do not have adequate nourishment.
Let opportunities of leisure fill me with the gratitude of abundance and let me not forget those parts of me who get no leisure, that I may work for their highest good and be in solidarity with their realities.
Let me always live in knowledge the "I" is not solitary, that I am nothing without everything, that freedom, security and safety exist for all or none.
Help me to know what that means and how, then, to live.
~
Thank You for Your Faith in Me
No name I call you seems adequate
and so I say Holy One, not to be defining
but to have a way to be in dialogue.
Holy One
some moments I feel inadequate
to live up to the task you have me.
I feel like I don't really know what I' doing.
Some moments I know I am inadequate.
And yet you still call me to respond.
Thank you.
Thank you for your faith in me.
Your faith in me makes what I do enough.
Your presence turns my fumbling into what it needs to be.
As I stumble down this path you lay before me,
keep my feet true.
Help me to recognize which fork to choose
or lesser path to turn off on.
Help me be courageous and creative.

We Seek Light
We seek light, Holy One
as winter wanes to the promise of darknesses ebbing
we seek Your light
We look east
to catch the earliest morning sun
seeking reprieve from winter's night
We look for signs
green shoots amid the mud of thawing ground
birdsong and a morning walk with fingers free of mittens
We seek lightening
of hearts holding heaviness
of our own winter moments of wavering
We lift grateful faces to Your Luminous Love Light
as our winters wane and darknesses ebb
as our new growth breaks into the light and
we sing into our thaw
We glorify You who has glorified us
with your sure and generous Brilliance. Amen

Prayer for the Path
Lead me from the path of safety, Creating One,
that I may find the path of transformation,
the path of my highest power to the highest good of the world.

When I pray, I pray to
Coming in to myself
When I pray to God I pray to atoms of existence
I pray to the expanding bang of the Big Bang
I pray to the "dusty borders between"
and the wind cleansed skies
I pray to creation and created
I pray to you and me
to the vibrations of music
the scent of rain washed pavement
solar systems beyond our knowing
including the one deep inside
I pray to the burning core of the earth
and the reaches of ocean unpenetrated by sunlight
I pray to the love of mother
and fathers, lover and friends
I pray to life and the circle of life
When I pray to God, I pray to unknowing
and to the sure knowledge of all there is to be grateful for

Spirit Lord's Prayer
If we revision God from the theistic patriarch monarch God to "spirit", what would the Lord's prayer be?
Holy Spirit, who art in and of creation
Hallowed by thy essense, thy being
Your kin-dom florish
Your will be done for all of creation, here now and in the future
Give us today nourishment for all and forgive us when we don't consider all of creation in our actions
As we forgive others when our needs are not considered
Help us not to see ourselves as having dominion
Deliver us from evil
For thine is all of creation
The life force and our thankful praise
forever and ever
amen
