musings of

Kimiko Karpoff

a spiritual and oddly religious seeker

Moments are simply the brief passings of time as we move through our lives. Most are here and gone, but a scattered few hold our attention. While all of living is sacred, there are those scattered brief moments that particularly speak to our hearts, enrich our lives or reveal unexpected beauty. Scattered moments. Sacred moments. My hope is that you find a moment of connection here.

November night

The rain is driving and thick tonight. It’s like walking through a constant bead curtain. Fat drops clatter on the garbage laden sidewalk, piles of peoples’ belongings, and the cars negotiating Hastings street. A man wrapped in a hoodie and plaid shirt sits tucked in a doorway, an attempt, I suppose at keeping out of the deluge. There is no dry place in this weather.

Musings

These scattered and sacred moments captured in words emerge out of my journals, wanderings and occasionally while driving. They are at times, poetic, prayerful, or reflective. Sometimes all at once.
